More from LA

A few pictures from LA. I'll post more later.

I think I gushed all day because Henry Winkler kissed me on the cheek after taking this picture.

Here I am with Jenn and Lisa.

Meg, and Heidi.

and with Cynthia Leitich Smith.

and Kelly.

Jenn and Kate from my SCBWI group. Jenn is one of my critique partners.

Hey, having Henry Winkler kiss you on the cheek sound cool to me.

Yeah, I had to lead with the kiss. He was so sweet to everyone (but not everyone got a kiss!)!

He was SO sweet. Before going to his table, he walked along the autograph line, looked each person in the eyes and said, "Thank you so much for being here." He just seemed so normal and sweet! I LOVED him as Fonzie when I was a kid. I still remember wearing my white Fonzie shirt with the orange trim around the neck, walking around saying, "AYYYYYEEEE."

That is soooooo coool
I think it's great you got a pic with Henry Winkler. So does my son, Eli. He said, "I love him, he's cool."

Re: That is soooooo coool
I had him sign two books--one for my daughters and one for the auction basket for this weekend's play. The character in the book auditions for THE KING AND I. It's autographed by Henry, his co-author (Lin Oliver) and the illustrator.

Tell Eli, I love Henry Winkler too!

Henry Winkler! Sigh.

It looks like you're having a wonderful time--maybe someday I'll make it out there for the conference.

It was so much fun. I wish I could go every year. I know that won't be the case though.

I wish you would have been there! My hubby has already given me the "we're not doing this every year" speech. :-(

You totally gushed about the Winkler kiss all day. And it was cute. Remind me of Jenn's last name? I so liked talking Jane with her.

great to meet you!
Kim, I'm glad I had a chance to meet you at the conference (even if it was ever so briefly!). I, too, had a wonderful time... and I came home so very inspired! You have captured the positive energy and excitement of the conference very well. I can add that the Poetry Master Class with Lee Bennett Hopkins was fantastic.

Still glowing,

Mary! It was great to meet you -- I didn't realize you had a blog. I'll have to check it out!

Re: great to meet you, Kelly!
Hi Kelly,
I'm very new to blogging. I just started last month! But I'm finding it's a great way to connect with people, which was my motivation. I'd love to e-mail with you about the conference and poetry workshop. I didn't really get a chance to talk with you much at the time, but I'd love to hear your impressions!

I did gush. It was gush-worthy!

I'll email you Jenn's info. She doesn't blog, so until then, I don't want to post it.

You are welcome!

I have some other good ones, but I think a lot of those are similar to what you saw in the totally awesome video Lisa did!
